Yurok Tribal Council Meetings Will be Broadcast Live August 5th & 6th Via GoToMeeting

The Tribal Council is committed to keeping you informed about Tribal programs, services and initiatives, during the COVID-19 crisis. We rely on your input to better serve our community and to build a brighter future for the Tribe. That is why we have facilitated multiple, virtual comment periods for each Tribal Council session since the emergency starts. Now, we are taking our meetings to the next level. On August 5 and 6, Tribal citizens will have an opportunity to attend Tribal Council meetings via GoToMeeting.

In order to make the online meeting run smoothly, please review the following instructions. The Tribal Council will deliberate on each agenda item just like a normal meeting and will allow tribal member comment on each specific issue before a Council vote. The only difference is there will be three breaks, which is when the open Tribal member comment sessions will occur. To get feedback from as many individuals as possible, we are keeping the same Tribal member comment period times as before, which are at 9:30am, 12:30pm and 4:30pm on the day of the meeting.

Please attend the Tribal Council meeting on Wednesday, August 5 and Thursday, August 6. Both meetings begin at 10am and conclude at approximately 6pm. Tribal citizens are encouraged to attend the meeting and to participate in the Tribal member comment sessions. We need input from everyone in order to serve you better. The following ground rules are meant to allow for the maximum number of people to provide comments:

1. Participants are required to provide full names when signing in to GoToMeeting.

2. The Chairman will select each commenter.

3. State your name and residence for the record.

4. Please keep comments under 3 minutes.

5. Be respectful of all.

6. Please refrain from discussing personnel issues.

7. Keep it cordial.

8. No campaigning.

9. Comments/questions limited to 3 minutes, as each Tribal member comment session is 30 minutes in length.

10. All comments will be recorded in the official meeting minutes and posted on the Tribal website.
